Have you seen the new laptop display from Samsung? 3200 x 1800 crazy pixel density.
There’s a point – and we’re approaching it – where human eyes can’t discern the higher pixel density levels we’re seeing in new computing devices. It’s what Hollywood figured out, humans want a certain level of make believe – not exact details.
Now for certain applications, say medical research, these extreme details are useful and damn near required [say in surgical procedures]. I can imagine these Samsung laptops being welcome in a research lab, hospital, field forensics setting.
Hopefully they’ll work on getting the price of these fancy displays down to an affordable level; without damaging the earth or exploiting employees in their factories.
Imagine what med students or science interns in developing countries could do with these laptops.
